What is Holiday Park?

Holiday Park is the biggest chain of resorts on the Polish side of the Baltic Sea. The chain offers stays in luxurious chalets and apartments for families on holidays with children. Located just a few steps from the sea, the resorts offer relaxation and comfort to kids and their parents alike. There are a number of activities at Holiday Park, such as swimming pools, playgrounds, beach courts, game rooms, animation for children, and sports classes for guests.

Problem: Bugs prevented users from booking

The company created an original booking system for luxury resorts located throughout Poland. As time went on, the simple booking system was significantly expanded, causing the existing manual testing to become inefficient. With a limited IT team, the company began looking for a solution that would reduce the amount of work required for testing; in turn, a suitable tool was chosen. It has happened that undetected errors prevented reservations for accommodation, negatively affecting the business as well as the company's image.

In order to reduce the IT team's workload, the company was looking for a solution that would stabilize the testing of holiday booking systems. One solution was to use Protractor's framework. Yet the costs and workload associated with creating and maintaining tests exceed the expected figures.

How BugBug resolved the issue

Then, more complicated tests of a multistage booking form were created very quickly. The BugBug team recommended that the tests be prepared using reusable components to make it easier and more efficient. Consequently, a graph showing the whole project's tested business path was produced. Testing is associated with a process in which they can be run in cloud storage after every release of a new version of the holidaypark.pl application. As a result of this feature, the company does not have to maintain its own IT infrastructure for this specific purpose.
